Printmaking is an artform where ink is transferred onto a surface. This is a type of art that can be made on anything, paper, metal, wood and more! There are several different types of printmaking.
Relief Printmaking: Carve away from a material like our erasers to make something to ink and print. Like a stamp!
Intaglio Printmaking: This is usually in metal. You draw or scratch a grease off the metal in your design, then it goes into acid to eat away the area. This will be not the ink color when you print. It's the opposite!
Planographic/Lithography: You can use watercolors on plexiglass to paint a picture. Then use wet paper laid on top to transfer the image over!
Stencil/Screen-printing: Ink is pushed through a screen's little holes with a squeegee. The other holes you don't want to be that color are clogged with a chemical.
Printmaking is a great art style because you can make multiples of your art, not just one!
