Painting Style

Eric Carle painted on tissue paper. He would sometimes sponge or brush textures onto the paper. After he would paint the tissue paper with textures, he would cut out shapes. Later he would glue the shapes onto boards and create his animals.

His book illustrations would be interactive with die cut holes for bites out of food, twinkle lights or sometimes sounds.
